Once a dairy, this building has been lavishly converted to the very highest standards, in a setting that is at once very rural but superbly well-connected.

The conversion is brand new, so the latest styles prevail, with soaring open beams and a sense of airy elegance.

Set around a walled garden the Ox House provides privacy and comfort. It is at the heart of a working farm that provides a diverse cross-country course for event horses, so the setting is calm and rural, only broken occasionally by the sound of hooves galloping by.

There are two guest bedrooms here, one super king and one twin. Both have en-suite facilities which are exceptionally well-appointed with all contemporary comforts fitted this year.

The ‘L’-shaped property encloses a quiet walled garden that’s a sheltered sun-trap, perfect for watching new plants get established as a classic farmhouse garden comes vividly to life.

The atmosphere is of airy elegance, with antique furnishings complementing an interior that has been so thoroughly redecorated as to leave little trace of this dairy’s previous life. Though the Ox House is a new venture, Alison Kerr Muir has plenty of experience in hospitality. She used to have an outside catering company and until recently ran Hawkhill House B&B – getting rave reviews on Tripadvisor.

Continental breakfast is available and can be taken in the privacy of your room.

OX House is unable to accommodate dogs but dogs are in residence on the farm.
